    Dr. Steven S. Shayani has been the Medical Director of Long Island Heart Associates since 1994. Recently appointed The Mount Sinai Medical Center Director of Outpatient Services for Long Island, Dr. Shayani is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Shayani is also a distinguished Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Steven Shayani specializes in atherosclerosis, cardiac arrhythmia, metabolic syndrome, hypercholesterolemia, congestive heart failure, and myocardial infarction and has lectured extensively on these topics.     Dr. Steven Zeldis is highly-specialized in Cardiac CT Imaging. Dr. Zeldis is board certified in internal medicine, and cardiovascular disease. He served as Chief of Cardiology, Director of Medical Education and Director of the Non-invasive Cardiology Laboratory at Winthrop University Hospital for twenty one years.     Dr. Richard Smith served on staff at Winthrop University Hospital for eight years, where he directed the Echocardiography Program and Cardiology Clinics. While at Winthrop University Hospital, Dr. Smith was elected Outstanding Attending Physician of the Year in Cardiology and Internal Medicine. In addition, Dr. Smith has been an assistant professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His teachings have inspired seasoned cardiologists as well as those who are newly entering the medical field.     Dr. Fulvia Milite graduated from medical school and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. After serving as Chief Resident, Dr. Milite moved to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She subsequently became interested in Sleep Medicine and returned to New York for a six-month sleep fellowship at St Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center in Manhattan.     Physician assistant Christina Kennedy has been with Long Island Heart Associates since 2009. After graduating from New York University, Christina continued at Weill Cornell Physician Assistant Program where she received her degree as a Physician Assistant. Christina has over five years of experience in the medical field where she previously worked at the New York Hospital of Queens. Christina is a Board Certified PA and is also certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). She has been a sub investigator in clinical trials conducted by the New York Heart Research Foundation. Some trials include ENGAGE-AF-TIMI 48 and PEGASUS-TIMI-54. Christina has dedicated her career to helping her cardiac patients live healthier lives.
