LightSpeed VCT—Decreased Radiation for a Healthier Heart

Introducing a state-of-the-art Computed Tomography [CT] machine equipped with ASiR technology from GE Healthcare. The LightSpeed VCT is fast and accurate, offering a 40% less dose of radiation and a 30% better LCD depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practice.

Heart health should not be taken lightly and the cardiologists at the Long Island Heart Associates want patients to feel confident during testing. In fact, Long Island Heart Associates is one of four locations on Long Island to have this advanced CT Machine and the only private practice. With access to sophisticated medical technology, patients can now benefit from higher quality imaging on a wide range of exams. The upgrade provides 128 distinct projections for improved visual image space samples as well as high-resolution images, shorter breath-holds for patients and optimized dose levels.

So, how does the LightSpeed VCT work?

In fewer than five heartbeats, the LightSpeed VCT has the ability to capture images of the heart and coronaries. During a “CAT” scan, cardiologists will have the ability to view internal abnormalities to assess the extent of trauma or damage.
